I am an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University Hospital of Cologne and Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospital of Frankfurt. In my research group I focus on the advancement of data driven approaches in radiology. Through implementation of structured reports and usage of quantitative imaging biomarkers, we aim to provide added value for the referring physicians, enabeling more personalized treatment strategies. Furthermore, we are interested in the application of deep learning techniques to improve the imaging workflow, from image acquisition to image interpretation.
My clinical activity focuses on computed tomography and abdominal imaging as well as interventional radiology. I am also heavily involved in under- and postgraduate teaching and currently serve as teaching coordinator in our institution.
I am a board member of the European Society for Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII) and serve as Deputy Editor for European Radiology.
